Student Organizations
Student organizations round out an LISD TECH Center student's experience. All students have the opportunity to participate in activities, conferences, and competitions geared toward their career choice and provided by national organizations. Regional, state, and national levels give students a chance to interact and network. Past students have told us how student organizations greatly enhanced their learning and overall LISD TECH Center experience. Our students often perform well, with several in recent years placing highly in the state and even national and international level competitions.
BPA
Business Professionals of America is the leading student organization for students pursuing careers in business management, finance, office administration, information technology, and other related career fields. BPA has 45,000 members in over 1,800 chapters across 25 states and Puerto Rico.

DECA
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. With nearly a 70-year history, DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, and business professionals. DECA's High School Division includes 200,000 members in 3,500 schools.

FFA
FFA is a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. Members are future chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers, and premier professionals in many career fields.
FFA is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership. It is one of the three components of agricultural education. The official name of the organization is the National FFA Organization. The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America. The FFA currently has over 650,000 members in 8,568 chapters in all 50 states including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

FIRST Robotics
FIRST Robotics is designed to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology, and to motivate them to pursue education and career opportunities in STEM fields. FIRST Robotics provides students with an opportunity to work as a team to develop skills in creativity, engineering, problem-solving, leadership, and marketing. The competition challenges teams to build a remote-controlled robot that accomplishes defined tasks in a competition arena. FIRST Robotics has over 91,000 participants through more than 3,500 teams.

HOSA Future Health Professionals
HOSA promotes career opportunities in the health care industry and enhances the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for secondary, postsecondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled in health science education and biomedical science programs or have interests in pursuing careers in health professions. HOSA has over 200,000 members through 51 chartered associations across North America and Europe.

SkillsUSA
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA serves students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations, providing educational programs, events, and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE) in the nation’s classrooms. SkillsUSA empowers its members to become world-class workers, leaders, and responsible American citizens. SkillsUSA serves more than 335,000 students and instructors annually.

National Technical Honors Society
NTHS was developed to honor student achievement, leadership, promote educational excellence, and encourage community service among career and technical education (CTE) students. NTHS currently serves approximately 100,000 active members.
Any student who maintains a 3.2 grade point average at their local high school and a 3.5 in their LISD TECH Center class is eligible to apply for membership in the NTHS organization. NTHS members also serve as student leaders at the LISD TECH Center. Being an NTHS member is a great addition to any job resume!
